Additional Info
ConstructionVicem Yachts is a Turkish Yacht Builder that has been building “DownEast” design yachts since 1991 when they created their first models in the Maine lobster style tradition.
Aside from the spectacular mahogany craftsmanship that will take your breath away, Vicem Yachts is also known for their cold-molded construction technique which involves layering thin strips of wood at different angles and saturating them with epoxy resin. This technique is said to produce a stronger and lighter hull than traditional fiberglass construction.
According to Power & Motoryacht, Vicem’s yachts are technically hybrid composite builds with an outer shell of fiberglass.
A few other well known elegant and elite high end yachts built with similar construction in the USA are Rybovich Yachts, Merritt Yachts, and many of the “Custom Carolina” built yachts.
Currently Vicem Yachts are building boats from 46 feet to their largest VULCAN line of Motor Yachts that have a triple deck layout and reach lengths of 151 feet.
Many owners feel one advantage of owning a Windsor Craft is the sound deadening construction. It lessens that water “slapping sound” under the bow that boaters either like or dislike.
