Entering the salon through the helm entry door you step down two high gloss teak steps covered in a clear non-skid finish, complemented by a custom-made teak handrail. To the port side is the salon L-shaped sofa wrapped in an upgraded fabric and matching ottoman. Both have storage below. The focal point of the space is the full wall- length Channel glass and birds-eye maple high low pedestal table.
The sole is covered in Maple Amtico and access to the mechanical space is made easy through an access hatch centerline. The master stateroom is directly forward and the guest quarters are directly behind the entry steps. To the starboard side you find the full functioning galley and ships’ AC/DC distribution panel. Below the entry steps is where the onboard central vacuum system can be found as well as the AV equipment and freshwater filtration system. All of the lighting is recessed LED on dimmable switches. A flat screen wall mounted TV is adjacent to the salon sofa.

Galley
The galley in the Viking 42 Open sets the bar high for all other vessels in her class. With everything needed to prepare meals and ample storage. Plenty of countertop space is made available thanks to her wraparound seamless countertop with integrated freshwater hot/coldsink. All of the cabinetry is constructed from high gloss finish teak panels. On the aft bulkhead you will find the recessed 2 burner induction cooktop and ships’ AC/DC distribution panel above. Just below the aft countertop is the newly updated Nova-Kool refrigerator and freezer. Moving to the starboard side of the galley you will have plenty of storage in 3 overhead cabinets and just below is the freshwater sink. Continuing forward is the microwave and cutlery drawer as well as additional storage below. Maple Amtico continues throughout the galley.

The master stateroom is located forward featuring a walk-around island queen berth with custom coverings and pillows. Ample storage above in teak joinery and below in (2) slide out drawers and a lift top berth. Twin single berths and a large custom built hanging locker as well as additional storage outboard. This stateroom makes the perfect accommodations for a family with kids or two couples. Helm
Functionality, style and comfort are the key elements that make up the Viking 42 open helm area.The most notable feature is the custom built hardtop which was raised 13" from standard. A custom fiberglass visor wraps around the front with (3) functioning vents and (2) additional Bomar hatches in the hardtop overhead. Immediately as you enter the helm area from the cockpit you are welcomed by the feel of the climate controlled panoramic space. To port is a refrigerated drink box and to the starboard is a matching insulated box. A large centerline walk-around helm with upgraded Furuno TZ Touch electronics, Zeus joystick controls, Palm Beach pod and full 360 degree visibility. Upgraded Stidd helm chairs and teak sole platforms accent the area.
To port and starboard are large bench seats with Sunbrella cushions and below gas assist actuators reveal large storage compartments.

The cockpit is very well arranged with mezzanine seating to port and starboard as well as tackle drawers and storage, a fully electric hydraulic actuated lift for complete access to the engine room and (2) In-deck fish boxes. A Pompanette rocket launcher was added with (6) rod holders. Along the overhang an additional (6) rod holders were added in addition to the standard (4) in the side gunwales. The cockpit sole has newer Sea Dek and the mezzanine and steps are teak. To port is the Glendinning cable master and to starboard is the cable/phone hook up as well as fresh and saltwater wash down area. Aft centerline is your lazarette access as well as two additional hatches to access the pods for maintenance and servicing. Along the transom is a factory live well and transom door with lift gate. At the transom, a custom swim platform is painted Bahama Blue to match the painted hull color.
