Sabre – 38 Salon Express

Maine, United States
$625,000

New to Market

Meet “Lake House”, an extremely well maintained Sabre 38 Salon Express lovingly cared for by her current stewards who have found themselves captivated with the cruising life and moving up only to sail off into the sunset…. literally, but without sails. She has been thoroughly enjoyed over the past few years, however, still boasts lower than average hours at 530 over her lifespan. She’s just been upgraded with all new soft goods: Ultraleather in the Salon and Sunbrella in the cockpit. She also has new custom Oceanair blinds on the Salon windows.

The Sabre 38 Salon Express has proven to be very popular among cruising couples with the occasional need for guest accommodations. She’s efficient, comfortable, quiet, and easy to handle in close quarters with joystick control. She’s even equipped with the optional DPS (Dynamic Positioning System) enabling her to sit stationary at virtual anchor while tending lines and fenders singlehanded, waiting for a bridge opening, or in queue for the fuel dock. She’s a capable cruiser with some uniquely innovative design features such as an elevated double sized mate seat facing forward for visibility and a cross cockpit aft seat that, with the push of a button, extends out over the transom enabling either more room in the cockpit or a more intimate dining option to the opposing rear facing seat when brought in.

Other features unique to the 38 SE that are important to mention: the coveted lower lounge area that converts into a twin berth, an open L-shaped Galley with ample natural light from above, a drop-down privacy screen between the Owner’s Stateroom and Galley that houses a TV while in the up position, walk around queen sized berth, large Head with separate stall shower, ample clothing storage with a cedar lined hanging locker, easy engine room access in the cockpit with storage for folding bicycles (two included) as well as spares, twin cockpit boarding/entry doors, and a drop-down window in the aft Salon for engaging those in the cockpit. She’s also able to cruise relatively fast and efficiently between 25 and 27 knots at 20 to 24 gph respectively. Overall, a well thought out and contemporary design in the Sabre family.

“Lake House” just came out of indoor heated storage, is fully commissioned for the season, and is in the water at our Portland docks. Feel free to call the listing broker for more details and performance specs.
