Tuscan Sun is a beautiful turn-key 1993 Sabre 38 MK II that is sure to impress. One of Sabre’s most popular designs, the 38 MK II is a beautiful aft cockpit masthead sloop with room below to sleep six. Her spacious interior accommodations include satin finished cabinets and teak and holly sole. With a 4′ 3″ draft with the centerboard up and a 8′ 8″ draft down, Tuscan Sun sails very well while offering the capabiity to enter almost any harbor or favorite anchorage. She is likely to be the best outfitted Sabre 38 MK II you will find.
Tuscan Sun had a complete overhaul of the electrical & charging system to provide energy independence at anchor by utilizing the solar and rapid charging while offshore in preparation for an extended trip in 2008. Since then, no expense has been spared or maintenance upkeep skipped including replacement of sails, batteries, fresh mast & boom paint, canvas, anchor, a comprehensive electronics refit, and significant preventative maintenance work on the engine (incl new injectors, heat exchanger, freshwater pump, exhaust elbow, engine & exhaust hoses).
The owner has treated maintenance & upkeep meticulously with detailed notes documenting just about anything from cleaning the heat exchanger to re-bedding a stanchion base. Just some of the recent maintenance & equipment replaced over the last few years incude:
The forward private vee-berth includes a large double sleeping berth, sink, hanging locker and a large overhead hatch for ventilation and lighting. Leaving the vee-berth facing aft the spacious salon includes a straight settee to starboard and an L-shaped settee to port. The dinette table folds up to the bulkhead leaving plenty of space for entertaining when not needed. Continuing aft the navigation center is to starboard and the fully equipped galley is to port. Aft of the galley is another private double cabin and to starboard is the head complete with lavatory, marine head and large shower. The Sabre 38 MKII features plenty of storage, ventilation and lighting.
