Whether you are looking for a live aboard, or extensive passage making, Don’t miss out on owning this fine example of a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54DS.
The interior fit and finish is excellent while the overall build quality using kevlar in strategic locations combined with excellent sailing performance made this model one of the best selling boats over 50 ft.
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54Ds designed and built by Jeanneau shipyard; the Sun Odyssey 54Ds are unmistakable with it’s sleek, elegant looks and superior sailing performance; it’s no wonder the 54Ds were a staple for the avid sailor!
Launched in France in the fall of 2002, The Sun Odyssey 54Ds was Jeanneau’s flagship. Built traditionally with hand-laid fiberglass without a core and supported by fiberglass over wood floors and stringers which made the hull very rigid. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54Ds is an absolute pleasure to sail, boasting 1,431 square feet of sail on the large triple-spreader 72-foot mast, making it quick on all points of sail and surprisingly agile for her size!
The large cockpit on two levels can easily accommodate ten people. There is plenty of storage, a dedicated life-raft locker that houses a lightweight valise-type raft, and a propane locker that holds two tanks. The cockpit seats are wide and have ample back support. Additionally, there is locker space under each seat. The running rigging is easily accessible, and the electric winches make light work of trimming!
Stepping down the companionway steps, you are met by a vastly spacious salon with sumptuous settees and elegant chairs rimming a lovely teak table to starboard and a minibar to port. The interior is lavishly appointed with beautiful hardwood cabinetry, joinery, and flooring you don’t see in cruisers these days. The C-shaped galley on the port side is very convenient, with plenty of countertop space, and the dual door access to the fridge and freezer is large enough for longer voyages. The cabins are spacious, airy, and air-conditioned throughout!
