Mechanics
A centerline watertight door leads to the walk-in engine room. The main engine is dry exhaust. The dry exhaust is vented through a 10-inch steel expansion bellows exhaust pipe that extends through the aft portion of the cabin. It is wrapped with heat wrap. Engine coolant is circulated through the keel cooler. The exhaust is fitted with 5-inch stainless-steel tubing and 4 ft muffler. Wing engine and genset are wet exhaust. Extensive spare parts, specialty tools, etc.

Construction
Heavily built steel hull with aluminum superstructure. Bruce Roberts designed, all plans were USCG approved. Built indoors by 30 years experienced welders. All compartments are separated by steel bulkheads or watertight doors. Wire and piping pass throughs are sealed with ABS approved tumescent caulking. The hull is insulated with 2" navy board fiberglass insulation. The engine room is insulated with non-asbestos mineral wool with lead sheets for sound insulation. Most of the construction materials including bedding foam, canvas headliners, and structural walls do not support combustion.
