Bristol Channel Cutter – Channel Cutter 28

Massachusetts, United States

Hull built in 1977,stored inside unfinished.  Finished between 2012 and the launch on 2014. when she was fit & finished by Gannon & Benjamin, Martha’s Vineyard.

All hard ware is bronze or stainless.  teak or south American hardwoods used in construction, Spruce spars

All Sperry Sails.  Only one fuel source needed for engine, stove and heater

Wallas Stove is also the heater – keeps the cabin at 75 degrees even at below freezing outside temperatures.

Has hot/cold presurized water.  Forward bulkhead is completely water tight – sink spout removes to become a hand held shower – gray water collects in bilge for pump out.

Head is composting so no need for pump outs or holding tanks.

Bunk above the dining table extends to become almost a queen size bed. With the pilot berth and the settee, you can comfortably sleep 4.

The dining table retracts and extends. Retracted allows for quiet dinners for 2 while leaving complete access to the passage way forward. When extended it allows seating for 4 as it includes the seating on the settee across from the two other cabin seats.

With the top of the refrigerator closed, the surface is perfect for laying out charts.

The engine has a removable access hatch under the stairs to check on engine status. A few screws allows the removal of the sound panels surrounding the engine for complete access.

Feathering prop is not only efficient, but it eliminates the need for a transmission.

Electric windlass and ground gear are oversized as are the self tailing winches. Deck wash keeps the mud and sand off the bilges and deck.

Wind vane steering installed but not used yet.

Forward sails are on roller furling gear to minimize the need to deal with the bow sprit. (One massive pin holds the bow sprit extended, but can be removed if needed to retract the sprit to fit the boat in tight areas.) Main has battens and 3 reefing points.

She is a great example of the popular class, rigged and ready for long distance passages, or any type of use.
