Lillian Gray is a prime example of the much sought after Beneteau Oceanis 48 in the shoal draft, 3 cabin / 2 heads format. Known for it’s roomy interior and exceptionally generous cockpit, the Beneteau Oceanis 48 was designed for long distance cruising in comfort. Lillian Gray is configured with the ICW friendly mast with in-mast furling for expanded cruising options, and is equipped with all the comforts required for long distance liveaboards, including air conditioning / reverse cycle heat, generator with AGM batteries, electric primary winches, bow thruster, extra fuel tank, and extra water tank.
Lillian Gray is a rare find, having never been chartered, and with only 2 meticulous owners. Cruising World described the Beneteau Oceanis 48 as being a “handsome full sized yacht boasting an expansive cockpit and full size exterior”. The 3 cabin 2 head layout allows for an opulent owner’s cabin with centerline, walk around bed, spacious enough to allow owners to sit up in bed. The owner’s quarters are like a floating condo, including prominent separate owner’s shower stall on the starboard side, central vanity, and separate port side enclosed head.Â
The saloon area invokes the open concept design ready for entertaining. The saloon table features large wraparound U- shaped seating with an additional island that can be converted to form a large Queen size berth. Opposite, on the port side, is a combination chart / coffee table, with seating either side. Ample storage on both the port and starboard side is perfect for long distance plans. Lillian Gray’s owners have added mood lighting to the port and starboard side for additional ambiance, and Hella fans for onboard comfort. Reverse cycle air conditioning is fitted throughout.Â
A chef’s galley is on the port side, accessible from the saloon and featuring an oven, cooktop, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and ample storage, including dedicated bottle and wine storage areas. Under the floorboards, additional storage spaces have been created.Â
A guest / sea heads is located adjacent to the companionway steps on the starboard side. Including a separate shower stall, the second head space allows for entry both from the saloon and from the starboard guest cabin with a two door locking mechanism, allowing for a second en-suite guest space. Guests benefit from two rear Queen sized cabins.Â
On deck, the cockpit is truly voluminous. Both the port and starboard seating is long enough to stretch out, and benefits from new cockpit cushions. The full width of the stern is cushioned with new exterior upholstery to create lengthy aft bench seating. Twin helms allow for easy sailing, with a central articulating master B&G plotter, and twin repeaters at each helm. Wind / speed direction, autopilot and compass are mounted at each helm station. A custom Kato arch spans the width of the transom, allowing for a large dinghy and outboard, raised above the swim deck, and near the rear washdown. The addition of two solar panels increases power capacity while on passages.Â
Lillian Gray benefits from a full, bespoke canvas package in marine blue, which is new. This includes a new dodger with upgraded stratoglass-style windows with removable central section. A connector leads to a full bimini which spans the entire cockpit area. Removable side panels create a full enclosure, or can be rolled up for air flow on sunnier days. In addition, there are 3 designated fly screen inserts. The new canvas is complimented by the upgraded central cockpit table with recently revarnished twin table leaves. Â
Lillian Gray benefits from professional maintenance: this yacht has been fully serviced in both the Spring and Fall by the renowned Hinckley boatyard in Thunderbolt, GA. Servicing at Hinkley has included engine servicing, coolant flushing, generator servicing, air conditioning servicing, heads servicing and joker valve replacement, rigging checks, and detailing.Â
The list of the most recent upgrades includes:
